THE ELIZABETH STREET PROJECT
A 1940’S HOME OWNED BY TWO ARTISTS WITH VERY DIFFERENT DESIRES FOR A HOUSE FRONT ENVIRONMENT- BRENDA WANTED A VERY NATURAL AND FULL GARDEN. JIM WANTED A VERY GRAPHIC STATEMENT GARDEN. WE SETTLED ON A UNIQUE “SILVER” GARDEN WITH ORANGE, YELLOW AND VIOLET ACCENTS

WE USED GREY DECOMPOSED GRANITE WITH AN ORGANIC STABILIZER UNDER THE SYCAMORE. THE SUBTLE LEVELS WERE CREATED WITH A COMBINATION OF CORTEN STEEL, CONCRETE AND GREEN WOOD

NEITHER OWNER LIKED THE USE OF ROCK IN A ROCK-TYPE GARDEN, SO WE SETTLED ON FORMING CEMENT “CUBE & CYLINDER” PIECES AS SUBSTITUTE ACCENTS WORKED IN EITH THE PLANTS AND LIGHTING

THE LAWN AREAS WERE REPLACED WITH DYMONDIA MARGARETAE AND ZOYSIA TENUIFOLIA - BOTH DURABLE GROUND COVERS
